My Teen Drive

My-Teen-Drive,-under-community-events-IMG_3030Spann Wilder Law was a sponsor for the local State Farm Celebrate My Teen Drive event held in Brittlebank Park on Saturday, September 15, 2012. The event was an opportunity to teach teenagers about the importance of road safety. Teens were afforded the chance to participate in impaired driving exercises with a golf cart, see crash re-enactments and learn from police the impact of alcohol on the body and to take field sobriety test. Spann Wilder Law presented information on how points are accumulated against a driving license and the amount of points varying tickets, displayed an actual speeding ticket and showed the anatomy of the ticket so that student would understand if they ever received a violation. A 10 year driving record was also presented along with photos of vehicles after serious accidents. The students were then asked to play a game called “Truth Be Told” with True or False questions about the roadways. Any student who answered 2 out of 3 of the questions were entered to win one of two gift cards, one being a $25.00 AMEX card and the other a $25.00 I-Tunes gift card. To learn more about safe driving tips and programs for teens, especially information on common road distracters such as texting and driving, drinking and driving, entertaining friends, etc. go to www.teendriving.statefarm.com/celebrate-my-drive.
